On a bright and sunny day at TELUS House Ottawa, the 2010 Y Ascent for Kids run was launched! Healthy snacks and enthusiastic people rounded out the event.

The issue of healthy living and growing rates of childhood obesity are part of the reasons why Janet Yale agreed to participate in YAFK, and why she has committed TELUS to help out too.
Gavin Lumsden, of Rogers Community TV and third co-chair of the run, put forth a challenge – he has two running caps (TELUS and iRun) whomever raises the most money, between Janet and Mark, Gavin will wear their cap as he runs the 5 k race.
